Life update
This year saw the end of many things in my life. It's been a hard one.
I left my job as a Teacher due to the stress of it. This job gave me even more respect for professional teachers! As much as I loved the actual teaching, that was maybe 10% of the job. I'm incredibly grateful for my time as a teacher.
Unfortunately, this year also saw the end of my Marriage. I've spent the last 6+ months working through that while trying to tackle the struggles of first year teaching.
So that leaves me with... "what's next?"
Well, I sure dont know. I want to lean more into my personal projects. I have several modding projects and electronics projects I'm continuing on. More detail on those soon! My goals moving forward
SPOOKTOBER RENDERS
It's October! Which of course means Halloween stuff. I've decided my goal this October is to
Create spooky Blender renders. Keep an eye out for my renders! The first one has been
posted to the Media Page.
Life update
Hey everyone, so... I don't have much of an online presence in social media and the like. Personally I prefer it that way.
But, I figure it's still a good idea to have some location where I can talk about stuff, keep anyone truly interested
up to date, etc.
So, for the last 13-ish years of my life, I've been working off and on as a Visual Effects artist. I will say that that
has not been easy on me. Visual effects is a rough industry, simultaneously representing so much artistic ingenuity,
and at the same time, so much corporate greed.
For the last few years I've been looking for an exit from the industry, and my hand got forced a bit by the writers'
strike (which I fully support despite any hardships). At the exact same time, a position to teach digital media opened up at the career center I went
to in highschool. I jumped at the chance and found they were willing to offer me a nice salary (for a teacher anyways) and I would have a lot of control
over what I'd be teaching.
That was back in March, and I've been teaching now since mid-August. It's been very rough due to my lack of teaching experience, and due to the absurd
amount of things teachers are expected to do outside of just teaching... But all in all I've really enjoyed teaching. I teach 2D Media,
Video and Audio Production, Interactive Media (Game design), and Coding for the Web (which is the only reason I have a website again).
